Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are eyelash extensions?
Who doesn't dream of waking with flawless lashes! Well get ready to shorten your morning routine. Our artists apply a single lash extension or a fan of multiple lash extensions to each one of your natural lashes. The technique will enhance the length, fullness and/or thickness of your lashes!
  • What type of lashes do we use?
A variety of faux minks lashes. Our lashes are the softest and most lightweight lashes on the market. Each lash extension comes in various curl, thickness, and lengths to give our clients a unique set of eyelash extensions to complement their eye shape and create the desired look.
  • What is the difference between classic and volume lashes?
Classic lash extensions involve a technqiue in which one extension is applied to one natural lash creating a perfectly appled mascara look. Volume lash extensions is a technique in which you are safely applying a customized fan of eyelash extensions using 2-8 extensions per lash. This technique creates a full & volumious lash appereance. Both classic & volume techniques enhance the natural lashes by thickness & length.
  • What if your eyelash extensions get wet?
As long as you wait 48 hours after your appointment, fresh water should have no effect on your lashes. Avoid hot water & steam for 48 hours. Also be careful to not let salt water or chlorinated water sit on your lashes too long. This can cause premature lash loss, as well
  • How long do eyelash extensions last?
Fill-Ins are recommended every 2 to 3 weeks. We naturally 2-5 lashes per day. There are many factors that affect growth and strength of lashes including but not limited to genetics, cleansing products, cosmetics, seasonal changes and athletics activities. With proper application, products, lash forecasting, home care and regular lash fill-in appointments you will prolong the life of your extensions.
  • Will they damage my natural lashes?
There is no reason that lash extensions should damage your natural lashes if they have done correctly.
  • Why are my eyelash extensions falling out?
This is totally normal and healthy. Our natural eyelashes shed anywhere between 2-5 lashes a day. Since the extensions are attached to the natural lash, they will fall out together. That being said, lash extensions should be filled every 2-3 weeks.
  • Can I have a reaction?
Getting lashes can be an adjustment. This adjustment period usually last about 24 hours. However, adjustment and reaction are very different. Reactions are not common, though they can occur. If you notice redness/itching this may be your body adjusting however if this continues past the 24-hour period, please contact us. Benadryl and Cortisone creams have been known to help relieve the discomfort while adjusting. If there is an allergy or if the redness/itching continues past the first 24 hours please contact us to avoid any damage done to your natural lashes.
  • Stay Dry!
In the first 48 hours of having your lashes, the adhesive is working to fully dry/cure. Using hot water or steam can cause your lovely lashes to fall off.
  • Sleep on your back!
This is difficult, we know, but it is important. Clients who tend to sleep on a particular side or on their face notice an increased amount of lash loss. Waking up with lashes on your pillow means they are rubbing on the pillow throughout the night. If you sleep on a particular side, you may also notice lash loss in a particular corner. If sleeping on your back is not do-able, an alternative to back-sleeping is getting a silk pillow.
  • Wash & Brush Daily!
Clean lashes are happy lashes. Lashes are fine hair extending from you lash line. Just as we wash and brush our own hair on our head, we must also do so with our lashes to help them healthy & squeaky clean. Any debris, dirt or even buildup of makeup will create retention issues. It is also very important to make sure you are doing this step before every lash appointment, too! This will give your artists the entire appointment time to focus on those pretty lashes.
  • No Oil Based Products!
This means makeup, cleansers, etc. Oils, the same as debris, will break down your lash extension adhesive creating retension issues. Natural oils from your skin/face can also create this issue so be sure to have a balance daily routine. We advise against mascara, but for those emergencies we do retail a mascara that is oil free.
  • Avoid Touching!
Don't get us wrong, your lashes are durable. Touching them won't cause lash loss however oils from your hands and repetitive touching/tugging will. Be mindful of these subconscious tendencies.
  • Keep it Up!
Lash retention will vary for everyone. Because of this, we advise scheduling a fill-in 2 weeks after your first appointment. After 2 weeks, you should re-assess your retention and amount of lash loss and discuss this with your lash artist. Schedule accordingly!
